Medicare Advantage Advertisements attempt to Lure you in by telling you that
you MAY Qualify for "ALL these EXTRA BENEFITS that you DESERVE".
Many plans offer ZERO Dollar Premiums and Copays.
What those advertisements DO NOT do is provide you the DETAILS of their plans
along with Plan Limitations and Restrictions and any explanations of
Your Out-Of-Pocket Costs.
The advertisements are designed to get you to CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR SCREEN
which then puts you in touch with a Persuasive Sales Person.
That person may be a licensed agent, but their primary job is to SELL you THEIR plan.
DO NOT ignore the details, and be sure to REVIEW and UNDERSTAND the
SUMMARY OF BENEFITS of the plan.
The SUMMARY OF BENEFITS is designed in simple terminology to show you
How, When and the Amounts or Percentages you will be charged for services and supplies. In other words, what the plan will really cost you when you use it.
People are sometimes very happy with their Medicare Advantage Plans until the time comes that they have a serious health issue.
Then, when hospitalized, they are often shocked to find out that they can have
COPAYS that can add up quickly to numbers beyond their expectations.
Particularly over the first week of hospitalization.
Be aware that Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by
For-Profit, Private Insurance Companies that are in business to make money.
Not to lose money.
Advertisements are designed to prey on your emotions
and to make you forget about critical thinking.
Decisions about the healthcare you choose for the rest of your life should not be
made based on short-term emotions. Those decisions should be made by
educating yourself on your options and making well thought out comparisons.
Working with a trusted professional who specializes in your area of need is always the best course of action.
As an independent insurance agent, I represent multiple, reputable, financially sound companies.
I offer Both Medicare Supplement Plans and Medicare Advantage Plans.
I am able to show you the Pros and Cons of each type of plan to help you decide which direction is the best fit for YOUR personal situation.
